The profession of a builder is one of the most ancient occupations of mankind. Since time immemorial, people who have chosen this activity have been working with full dedication and attention, realizing that the life of future inhabitants of the dwelling directly depends on how carefully they treat their profession. A builder is a general name for a variety of professions, each of which requires a good level of skills and abilities and plays an important role in the creation of buildings and structures.

The various construction skills that must be used in the construction of buildings and structures require a large number of construction professions, such as professions in the field of overhead construction, finishing work, underground construction. Construction draftsmen, on the instructions of architects and engineers, carry out the drawings necessary for the construction of buildings and structures, photographs of buildings for their restructuring. In addition, they take measurements and draw up plans for existing buildings, plans for laying existing sewers and other communications.

Bricklayers and concrete workers make foundations, walls, columns, ceilings, stairs and chimneys. They carry out artificial stone and natural stone masonry, formwork and concrete parts of buildings made of concrete, reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete, as well as work on the manufacture of concrete parts, the installation of prefabricated elements and the erection of prefabricated buildings. In addition, they build kilns designed for high temperatures.

During the construction of the supporting frame of buildings and enclosing structures, thermal insulation, plastering, preliminary electrical work, such as laying empty pipes for concealed electrical wiring in structures, installing pre-fabricated windows, door hinges and roller shutters, laying screeds, tiles, finishing plates and mosaics may also be done. Carpenters mainly produce wooden structures for walls, ceilings, stairs and roofs. The construction of scaffolding and formwork for concrete, the laying of fiber-cement boards, dry finishing work (installation of dry plaster boards) and the installation of ventilated facades are also among the tasks performed by carpenters.

Tinsmiths, roofers, assemblers of building structures, welders also belong to the professions for the construction of the "box" of the supporting frame and building envelopes.

The "building box" is considered complete if the walls, ceilings and roof are made.  

Road builders build roads, platforms and runways for airplanes. In addition, they plan the territories, arrange slopes, ditches, runlets and dams, as well as drainage, sewerage pipelines and mines. The paver lays paving slabs.

Plasterers plaster unfinished walls and ceilings, make partitions from dry plaster, carry out grouting and screeding.

Installers of frame-sheathing structures of dry construction make partitions in a “dry way”, i.e. from drywall on the frame, they are finishing walls and ceilings, laying heat-insulating layers, dry screeds, as well as fire-resistant lining of structures.

Screed installers install mortar screeds on the unfinished overlaps or lay them dry from slab materials, including heat and sound insulation, make terrazzo and breccia floors.

Facing workers-tile setters, mosaic installers finish walls and floors with ceramic tiles, finishing slabs and mosaics. This occurs mainly in wet areas such as kitchens, bathrooms and areas with high hygiene requirements such as food storage and processing rooms or swimming pools.

In addition, plumbers, gas workers, electricians, construction fitters, stone casting and terrazzo specialists, glaziers, painters, carpenters, and interior decorators work in the decoration of buildings.
